ABOUT

UH ASPRS is a student chapter of the American Society of Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS) at the University of Houston, in Houston, TX. The Chapter was formed in 2013 by students in the Geosensing Systems Engineering and Sciences graduate research program. The goals of the Chapter are to help advance scientific knowledge and to encourage public programs relating to different disciplines of photogrammetry and remote sensing.


ASPRS

ASPRS is "a scientific association serving over 7,000 professional members around the world. Our mission is to advance knowledge and improve understanding of mapping sciences to promote the responsible applications of photogrammetry, remote sensing, geographic information systems (GIS), and supporting technologies." Members perform a variety of services in private industry, academia, and the government. Fields of work include "Agriculture/Soils, Archeology, Biology, Cartography, Ecology, Environment, Forestry/Range, Geodesy, Geography, Geology, Hydrology/Water Resources, Land Appraisal/Real Estate, Medicine, Transportation, and Urban Planning/Development."
